Project Details: The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, the total plant area is 4.46 hectares and additional 0.72 hectares has been acquired adjacent to plant premises for greenbelt. The estimated cost of the expansion is Rs. 410 million. J.M.Environet is the consultant. Power requirement of 1,000 KW will be sourced from captive co generation power plant & UPPCL.


NV Distilleries & Breweries (North East) proposes a distillery and a power plant in dist. Kamrup, Assam.

Project: Proposed a 200 KLD grain-based distillery, a 15 KLD malt spirit distillery, bottling of IMFL & country liquor and a 10 MW co-generation power plant

Location:   Village Rampur, dist. Kamrup, Assam

Project Details:  The status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, the distillery will produce ENA. The total land area is 25 acres and 33% of the area will be developed as green belt. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2.43 billion. Administrative building, store, workshop, canteen, first aid station along with plant installation will be constructed. The power plant will entail one 65 TPH boiler having coal/ rice husk/ pet coke/ PNG as fuel. Power requirement of 4.5 MW will be met from the 10 MW co-generation power plant and remaining 5.5 MW will be supplied to the State Electricity Board.


Gokul Mauli Sugars is planning a sugar unit and a power plant in dist. Solapur, Maharashtra.

Project Details: PPA will be signed with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). TOR has been received. The project is waiting for Pollution Control Board clearance. Civil work will commence shortly.

The project is scheduled for completion in October 2016.

Location: Village Bamoloi, dist. Sambalpur, Odisha

Project Details: The project will come up in the existing 204.65 acres integrated steel plant premises. The capacity of the project is to be augmented from 0.70 MTPA to 5.70 MTPA. The cost of the project is Rs. 600.7 million. The project is awaiting environmental clearance. The project is planned for completion in 1 year from zero date. According to MoEF sources, the expansion is based on Heavy Media Cyclone (wet process) technology. The washery will produce washed coal of an average ash around 34% (GCV 4350 Kcal/ kg.), middling (ash content about 58%) of GCV around 2350 Kcal per Kg useable as fuel in FBC boilers. The proposed expansion will be the State-of-the-art with close circuit water system, classifying cyclone, high frequency screens, thickener and multi roll belt press filters. Power requirement of 5 MVA will be sourced from its own power plant connected with the Grid Corporation of Odisha.

Athani Sugars has put on hold a bagasse-based cogeneration power plant in Maharashtra

Athani Sugars has put on hold a 35 MW bagasse-based cogeneration power plant at Bambavade, dist. Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 3.78 billion inclusive of a sugar expansion project & a 90 KLD molasses-based distillery on total 90 acres of land. The entire power generated was be used for the sugar expansion & distillery. This unit is a leased unit from Udaysinhrao Gaikwad SSKL for 22 years. The sugar expansion is on hold and the distillery is awaiting environmental clearance. According to MoEF sources, the expansion is by modernizing and adding new machinery. Surplus power will be fed to MSETCL grid.

Project Details: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 700 million. The project will come up in the existing cement plant premises. The project will generate up to 7 MW of gross electrical energy from the waste heat and the flue gases evolved during the cement manufacturing process. The project that will be financed by a combination of internal accruals and bank loans is expected to be completed in about 14 months. The board of directors of the company has approved the project at its meeting held on 27th February, 2015.

Location: Manmunda, dist. Boudh, Orissa 

Project Details:   Green Energy Development Corporation Of Odisha is the nodal agency.
Tenders invited. According to media reports, the nodal agency has identified about 120 acres
of land at Manmunda for establishment of the project. The land has been allotted to the agency
from the industrial park area earmarked by Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development
Corporation (IDCO).The EPC tender is for development of the power plant and maintenance
for a period of 10 years. Apart from the Boudh project, the agency is in the lookout for additional
land in Koraput, Kantamal and Bolangir area for installing about 200 MW solar energy capacity.
