Location: Tuna region of Kandla Port, dist. Kutch, Gujarat
Project Detail: The project will spread over 310 hectares. Global expression of interest has been invited for selection of consultant for conducting techno-economic feasibility study (TEFS) for setting up the shipyard and ancillary industries. Kandla Port Trust (KPT) had recently invited Global Expression of Interest for setting up Industries directly requiring waterfront at Port Based Multi-Product Special Economic Zone (PBMSEZ) at Tuna, Gujarat on 5000 hectares (3600 hectares at Kandla & 1400 hectares at Tuna). As a part of CSL’s overall growth agenda, the possibility of setting up a shipyard at Tuna, is being looked into. It is proposed to construct dry docks & allied facilities in order to cater to the building & repair demands of vessels up to Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC) size. Setting up of ancillary industries in connection with ship building / repair, ship breaking facility, possibility of accommodating Ultra Large Crude Carriers (ULCC) etc are to be explored.
The scope of the consultant would be:
(i) preliminary engineering (pre-feasibility) study,
(ii) preparation of an indicative layout, identification and finalization of various infrastructure facilities & finalize the indicative layout incorporating the identified requirements,
(iii) setting up ship building/ ship repair/ ship breaking facility
(iv) preparation of block estimate for the infrastructure facilities,
(v) identification of the further studies and investigations to be undertaken during the DPR stage
(vi) Identification and listing of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ)/ environmental clearance & other statutory/ administrative clearances required
(vii) preliminary market analysis,
(viii) economic analysis &
(xi) techno-economic feasibility study report.
