Location: Village Bollaram, dist. Medak, Telangana on 15th June, 2016. This is the company’s 5th manufacturing unit for PVC products after Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Guwahati and Sikandrabad (UP) taking the company’s combined installed capacity for PVC products to 41,000 TPA.

Project Cost: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 17.5 million.

Project Details: As of September the project was waiting for the environmental clearance. According to MoEF sources, the plot area is 4.027 acres. The company proposes to manufacture 50 TPM of products as part of the expansion. Green belt on 33% of the land area will be developed and maintained. Power requirement will be made available through SPCPDCL.

The project will be completed within 2 years.


Virupaksha Laboratories is planning a bulk drug-manufacturing project in dist. Medak, Telangana.

Project Details: According to pre-feasibility report submitted to MoEF, the total plot area is 6.375 acres. The products include 3000 kgs/month atenolol, 5000 kgs/month cinnarizine, 5000 kgs/month cyano diol base, 5000 kgs/month dextromethorphan HBr, 2000 kgs/month DFTA, 4000 kgs/month epoxy mesylate, 1500 kgs/month escitalopram oxalate, 5000 kgs/month fexofenadine HCl (BCN), 5000 kgs/month fexofenadine HCl, 5000 kgs/month Fexo Stage-10, 5000 kgs/month Fluconazole, 10,000 kgs/month Metaprolol Succinate, 2000 kgs/month Tramadol Base, 25,000 kgs/month Tramadol Hydrochloride (MBA), 25,000 kgs/month Tramadol Hydrochloride (MCA), 5,000 kgs/month Tramadol nitrate. Coal fired boilers of 2TPH and 4.0 TPH capacities are to be installed. Total fuel requirement will be around 15.50 TPD. Coal is procured form local sources. Total effluent generated in the project is 106.0 KLD. Approximately 33 % of green belt will be developed and it will be maintained. Proposed plant activities will be started after getting statutory clearance from related authorities.

The project is waiting for environmental clearance. The project will be completed within two years.


Astrica Laboratories is implementing a synthetic organic chemicals manufacturing project in dist. Medak, Telangana.

Project: Setting up of a 240 TPA synthetic organic chemicals manufacturing project

Location: Ananthsagar Village, dist. Medak, Telangana

Project Cost: Rs. 78.8 million.

Project Details: The project will come up on 6.97 acres. According to MoEF sources, it is proposed to treat all HTDS effluent in stripper followed by MEE and ATFD. All LTDS effluent including domestic effluent shall be treated in biological treatment followed by RO system. RO rejects sent to MEE and permeate is used for cooling towers as make up. Solid wastes are generated from the process, solvent distillation, collection/neutralization tank, waste oil from DG sets, used batteries from DG sets. The ash from boiler is sold to brick manufacturers. The solid wastes; evaporation salts, wastes from the process in inorganic form i.e., process salts and filtration aids shall be disposed to the TSDF, while the hazardous wastes of organic nature i.e., distillation residues shall be disposed to authorized cement units and other wastes like used oil and used batteries shall be sent to authorized recyclers. The sludge from treatment plant shall be sent to TSDF. The basic technology involved in the manufacturing of bulk drugs is the process kettles, heat exchangers, centrifuges, and storage tanks. To support the process, equipment boilers, chilling plants, cooling towers, etc. are required. All the above equipment can be sourced indigenously.

Current Status: 80% of civil work has been completed. Remaining 20% civil work is in progress. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2015.

Project Details: According to MoEF sources, effluent generated from the plant are treated and reused. Sludge from effluent treatment plant and salts from MEE & ATFD shall be sent to TSDF. All effluents generated in plant will be treated in the zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system. The treated effluent shall be reused for cooling towers, boiler, washings and scrubbers.
Current Status: The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to commence in H2 2015 and is scheduled for completion in H2 2016.
