Project: Proposes a 2×1.5 MTPA clinker grinding unit

Location: Village Takarkhede, Taluka Amalner, dist. Jalgaon, Maharashtra under 2 phases

Project Details: The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, 1.5 MTPA will be set up under each phase. The total plant area is 35.4 hectares. About 33% of the land area will be covered under green belt. The estimated cost of phase-I is Rs. 4,120 million and phase-II is Rs. 2,620 million. Power requirement will be 15 MW for phase-I and 15 MW for phase-II, which will be sourced from state grid. A 6.5 MW DG set is proposed under phase-I. The plant will adopt dry process to manufacture PPC and OPC. A small township with guest house, officer, hostel club building will be constructed. The project will be completed in 18 months after receipt of regulatory approvals.

Project: Delayed an expansion of its sponge iron manufacturing unit from 300,000 TPA to 600,000 TPA & a new 72,000 TPA ferro alloy plant

Location: Village Jitusole, dist. West Midnapore, West Bengal.

Project Details: 120 acres of land has been acquired. The project was to come up in phases. In phase-I, it was planned to install a 4×100 TPD sponge iron plant & a 3×9 MVA ferro alloy plant & in phase-II, a 2×350 TPD sponge iron plant & a 3×9 MVA ferro alloy plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2,200 million. Part of the project work had been completed. The project has been delayed for 2 years due to market conditions. The company has applied for extension of validity of environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to re-commence after receiving all the necessary permissions.


Ultratech Cement has commissioned a cement grinding unit in dist. Jhajjar, Haryana.

Project: A 1.6 MTPA cement grinding unit has started commercial production in September 2015.

Location: Near Village Jharli, dist. Jhajjar, Haryana.

Project Details: This is the 13th grinding unit of the company. With this, the company’s cement capacity stands augmented to 63.1 MTPA. The third line at Aditya Cement, Rajasthan commissioned in March 2015 will cater to the clinker requirement of this plant.

Project Details: The capacity of the cement plant was to be augmented from 2.85 MTPA to 4 MTPA under 2 phases on existing land. Environmental clearance is yet to be received. The project has been delayed as the company is focussing on completion of its other projects in Odisha and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.

Emami Cement is planning a cement manufacturing unit in West Bengal.
Emami Cement is planning a 1.5-2 MTPA cement manufacturing unit & a 10 MW coal based Captive power project at Panagarh, dist. Bardhaman, West Bengal on 65 acres. Land has been allotted by the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 4180 million. The project is in a preliminary stage. The company will apply for environmental clearance shortly. Other details are yet to be finalized. Work on the project is expected to commence in H1 2016.
