Promoter: Surguja Power, a 100% subsidiary of Adani Mining

Project: Proposes a 540/600 MW coal washery rejects based thermal power project spread over 47.5 hectares.

Location: at Villages Parsa, Kete, dist. Surguja, Chhattisgarh.

Project Details: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 35 billion. According to MoEF sources, Greencindia consulting is the environmental consultant. The project will comprise of a 4×135/ 150 MW power plant based on the coal washery rejects within the Parsa East and Kete Basan coal block at Udaypur Tehsil, dist. Surguja. The Group has been assigned work by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL) for Mining, Development and Operation of Parsa East Coal Block and supply of beneficiated coal. Sizable reject coal will be generated, which shall be utilized for power generation by setting up the power project within the coal block. The plant is proposed to have Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) based coal fired boilers.


Rain Cements is planning a waste heat recovery-based power plant in dist. Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

Project: Plans 7 MW waste heat recovery-based power plant

Location: Boincheruvupalli Village, Peapully Mandal, dist. Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

Project Details: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 700 million. The project will come up in the existing cement plant premises. The project will generate up to 7 MW of gross electrical energy from the waste heat and the flue gases evolved during the cement manufacturing process. The project that will be financed by a combination of internal accruals and bank loans is expected to be completed in about 14 months. The board of directors of the company has approved the project at its meeting held on 27th February, 2015.


Seven Star Steels is planning an expansion of its thermal captive power project in Orissa.

Capacity: from initial 8 MW to 12 MW
Location: Village Kalendamal, dist. Jharsuguda, Orissa
Project Cost: Rs. 600 million.
Project Details: The project will come up along with an expansion of its sponge iron plant from 60,000 TPA to 180,000 TPA & ingot plant from 39,200 TPA to 80,000 TPA. Machinery will be partially procured locally and partially imported; orders are yet to be placed.
Current Status: The project is waiting for industrial clearance. Work on the project will commence in H1 2015.


Raichur Power Corporation is planning a coal-based super critical power project in dist. Raichur, Karnataka.

Capacity: 800 MW
Location: Village Edlapur, dist. Raichur, Karnataka.
Project Cost: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 88,062.3 million
Project Details: This is an expansion of the Raichur TPP by addition of 800 MW and would generate 5957 MU of energy annually. According to MoEF sources, 382 million tonnes of coal to KPCL has been allocated in Deocha-Pachami Coal Block in West Bengal which has a total reserve of 2012 million tonnes. The blended coal 2.92 MTPA [Indigenous coal of 2.044 MTPA (70%) and imported coal is 0.876MTPA (30%)] will be used for the proposed TPP. Edlapur TPS is proposed to be commissioned in 51 months from zero date. Imported coal would be utilized. Coal would be transported by rail for the entire route from mines to power plant site.
Current Status: Clearances for the project are received from Airports Authority of India & Archaeological Survey of India, Health & Family Welfare Department and Fisheries Department, GoK. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work will commence after receipt of clearances from MoEF.

Project Details:  The project will come up as a part of its 4-phase greenfield integrated steel project in the same location, which is also in planning stage. The power generated will be used for the upcoming greenfield integrated steel plant. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. 58 acres of land has been allotted by APIIC for the project. The entire project is planned for completion in 30 months from zero date.


Adani Power Rajasthan is planning an expansion of Kawai Thermal Power Plant in dist. Baran, Rajasthan.

Anantha Power Projects is planning a hydro electric power project in dist. Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.

Anantha Power Projects is planning a 3×2.6 MW hydro electric power project at Village Mohanpur, dist. Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The company is in final stages of placing orders for machinery. Clearances have been received. Work on the project is expected to commence in September 2014 & is planned for completion in September 2015.


Astrix Laboratories is planning a coal-based CPP in dist. Medak, Telangana.

Project Details: The Project will spread over 1,221.82 hectares of land. Phase-I will consist of 1,980 MW & the estimated cost is Rs. 144.82 billion. Phase-II will consist of 2,020 MW. Action has been initiated for preparation of FR for coal jetty and marine EIA study. The company is to expedite the issue of administrative sanction for acquiring land. LOA (Letter of Award) for the consultancy services for the preparation of Feasibility Report (FR) has been issued to Tractebel and preparation of FR is in progress. Current Status: Preparation of Feasibility is under progress.
