Project Details: Foundation stone was laid on 27th April, 2016. The Institute is being established at a cost of Rs. 401 million from the Centre whereas the Government of Himachal Pradesh apart from providing land has also made a provision of Rs. 20 million in the annual budget 2016-17 for the same. Himachal Pradesh government had released first installment to the tune Rs. 0.5 million to the Institute of Plastic engineering on 2nd January, 2016 for creating infrastructure. At present, CIPET Baddi is functioning temporarily in the premises of Baddi Technical Training Institute (BTTI). The motive of CIPET Centre is to upgrade the skill & technical competency of personnel in plastics industry. It offers Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing (PGD-PPT) from the academic year 2015-16 besides wide range of short-duration, skill-cum-technology up-gradation programmes in the field of plastics processing, injection moulding etc. The CIPET Centre will be inaugurated in 2017.

Project: Inaugurated the Current Good Manufacturing Practise (CGMP) compliant facility

Location: CRI, Kasauli, dist. Solan, Himachal Pradesh

Project Details: The institute was inaugurated on 24th April, 2016. The facility will be for the manufacture of DPT and TT vaccine. TT vaccine has been commercialized from this facility for Universal Immunization Programme use and production of DPT bulk has been initiated. CRI is exploring the feasibility of establishing WHO prequalified cGMP compliant manufacturing facility for yellow fever vaccine. This will enable the institute to supply yellow fever vaccine to African and Latin American countries. The institute has plans to manufacture all vaccines viz., Japanese encephalitis vaccine, rabies vaccine and typhoid vaccine, which were earlier manufactured in the Institute, after establishing CGMP compliant facilities and application of recent technological advancements. CRI plans to create state of the art, fully dedicated CGMP compliant laboratory for research on vaccine development and various other public health related issues. The institute plans to undertake research on newer vaccine candidates for existing and emerging diseases and to manufacture more efficacious and safer vaccines. CRI is in process of acquiring 128 bighas of land from Himachal Pradesh Government for creation of CGMP compliant facility for manufacturing of therapeutic anti-sera. CRI has started apprenticeship training for maintenance of high end machinery and equipment that have been installed with creation of new cGMP facility for production of DPT vaccine in the institute. The institute is involved in manufacture and supply of various lifesaving therapeutic antisera for snake bites, rabies and diphtheria, and supplies yellow fever vaccine to different parts of the country. Diagnostic reagents such as diagnostic antigens for typhoid, typhus fever and brucellosis and diagnostic antisera for cholera and salmonella are also manufactured and supplied to various institutions.

Project: Upgraded cotton yarn spinning unit

Location: at Unit: Birla Textile Mills, Village Bhatauli Khurd, dist. Solan, Himachal Pradesh

Project Details: The unit manufactures 83,376 spindles of cotton yarn, blended yarn, dyed yarn etc. The scope of upgradation involved addition of a new technology equipment in the existing plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 290 million. The upgradation was commissioned in December 2015.

National Highways Authority Of India is planning upgradation of the Kullu-Manali section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh.

Promoter: National Highways Authority Of India is planning upgradation of the Kullu-Manali section (length 37.275 Km) of NH-21

Location: Himachal Pradesh

Project Details: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2,184.7 million. RFPs have been invited for upgradation of Kullu-Manali section of NH-21 (now NH-3) from Km 272.00 to Km 309.345 (Designed Chainage) on EPC mode under NHDP Phase-IV B on e-basis.

The scope of work will broadly include rehabilitation, upgradation and augmentation of the existing carriageway to two-lane with paved shoulder standards in a length of 37.275 Km with construction of new pavement, rehabilitation of existing pavement, construction and/or rehabilitation of major and minor bridges, culverts, drains, etc. and maintenance of the project during the Defect Liability Period, which is expected to be 4 years. Documents can be downloaded from 12th March, 2015 till 26th April, 2015. The last date for submission of online bids is 27th April, 2015. The project is planned for completion in 24 months.
