Project: Plans to construct a Government Medical College Hospital (MCH)

Location: Badiyadukka, dist. Kasaragod, Kerala.

Project Cost: The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 3,880 million.

Current Status: Out of the total amount, phase-I of the work is estimated to cost Rs. 1510 million. The project will also utilise the loan of Rs. 684.5 million, which the NABARD sanctioned for the construction work in December 2014. Tenders for Rs. 294 million of the total first phase estimate will be floated in March 2015. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.


Tata Steel is planning to construct an eye care hospital in dist. Ganjam, Orissa.

Location: Samarjhola Village, Hinjilicut Block, dist. Ganjam, Orissa
Project Details: The company has signed an agreement with Sankara Eye Care Institutions India in January, 2015 to implement and operate the hospital. According to the agreement, the company will extend financial support as a grant up to Rs. 423 million for construction of the project & the required infrastructure including equipment to be built over 4.5 acres of land in the Samarjhola village. Sankara Eye Care Institutions India will implement and operate the hospital & the hospital will have facilities like comprehensive eye care, investigations and outpatient treatment, low vision clinic, contact lens clinic, special clinic for children, day care options – same day surgeries, micro phaco cataract surgeries for spectacle free vision, glaucoma services and others.


Care Hospitals Group is renovating the multi-speciality ‘Care Hospital’ in dist. Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Project Details: The hospital will also augment its beds capacity from 360 beds to 760 beds adjacent to the main building.

Cost:  The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 1 billion inclusive of a new hospital at Whitefield, Bangalore.

Project Details: The hospital will offer child & pregnancy care. The project is under company’s discussion. Work on the project is expected to commence in April 2015.  According to media reports, the group received investment of Rs. 1 billion from the UK development finance institution CDC and the Abraaj group about a year ago. Besides utilising internal accruals, the company will go for debt of Rs. 600-700 million to fund the expansion plan The company is also constructing a hospital at Whitefield (Bangalore) & planning to construct hospitals in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam & Chennai..
