Emami Cement is planning a cement manufacturing unit in West Bengal.
Emami Cement is planning a 1.5-2 MTPA cement manufacturing unit & a 10 MW coal based Captive power project at Panagarh, dist. Bardhaman, West Bengal on 65 acres. Land has been allotted by the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 4180 million. The project is in a preliminary stage. The company will apply for environmental clearance shortly. Other details are yet to be finalized. Work on the project is expected to commence in H1 2016.

Jaiprakash Associates is planning an integrated cement project in dist. Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.

Location: Dalla, dist. Sonbhadra Uttar Pradesh

Project Cost: Rs. 12,000 million.

Project Details: The Project will spread over 67 acres of existing land. The project will comprise of a 2.20 MTPA clinker plant and a 1.50 MTPA cement plant. This is an expansion of the cement plant by setting up of an additional clinker and cement plant. The existing plant has a production capacity of 2.0 MTPA clinker, 0.5 MTPA cement, 27 MW power along with six nos. captive limestone mines. Limestone will be received from the mine in same plant.

Current Status: The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project will commence after receipt of environmental clearance.


Ultratech Cement is planning an expansion of its integrated cement project in Chhattisgarh.

Location: Village Hirmi, dist. Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh

Project Details: The expansion will involve capacity augmentation of the clinker plant from 2.2 MTPA to 6.75 MTPA, cement from 6000 TPD to 8000 TPD and the coal-based CPP from 50 MW to 100 MW and a new 15 MW WHR-based CPP. The project will come up in the existing land. The total estimated project area is 167.1 hectares and the estimated cost of the project is Rs. 20,000 million.

Current Status: The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Further details of the project are yet to be finalized.


JSW Cement is planning an expansion of its cement grinding unit in dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.

Project Details: The project will be spread over 1000 hectares. The plant will comprise of a 5.5 MTPA cement plant, a 4.08 MTPA clinker plant & a 75 MW CPP. The CPP will use coal and other waste as fuel.

Current Status: The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project will commence in March 2015 and is planned for completion in 2017.
