Fertilizer Corporation Of India is planning to set up a natural gas-based urea plant in Uttar Pradesh.

Project: Planning to set up a 1.27 MTPA natural gas-based urea plant

Location: Dist. Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Project Details: Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India is the financial adisor. Request for Qualification (RFQ) invited for selection of investor for setting up the project at the Gorakhpur unit of FCIL in August 2015. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has authorized FCIL for revival of the Gorakhpur Unit by selecting a suitable investor to setup, design, finance, construct, establish, operate and maintain the project for a term of 33 years which may further be renewed. The total land area of 993.81 acres is available with FCIL. The estimated investment size is Rs. 60 billion. The Government has earmarked 2.4 MMSCMD of domestic natural gas for the project from Daman Field of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, which is expected to commence production from September 2016. The natural gas is proposed to be transported through the upcoming Jagdishpur-Phulpur-Haldia pipeline to be constructed by GAIL (India).

The last date for submission of bids is 20th November, 2015. The construction period is 3 years.
