Mumbai International Airport is modernizing and redeveloping the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai .

Project: Modernization and Redeveloping the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport
Location: Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Current Status: As of May 2013, work is in progress. The project is scheduled for completion in H2 2013. GVK led consortium, comprising of Airports Company South Africa and Bidvest won the bid to manage and operate CSIA. The project will comprise of the new integrated terminal and the cargo complex capable of handling 40 million passengers and 1 MTPA of cargo. As a part of the redevelopment plans, GVK is also working with the local authorities to improve access, while existing roads are being upgraded, the construction of a dedicated six lane, elevated road connecting the new terminal with the main arterial Western Express Highway has commenced. A link is also planned between the closest station of the metro project and the new terminal.
